perché stai sognando? rallenta... rallenta..

Perché l'avidità? Perché la delusione? Quello che viene è il Suo dono...

The Translation doesn't do appropriate justice to the songs! It just doesn't preserve the beauty of the song! I tried my best!
I was a teenager when I first heard this song. Well a truly melodious and romantic song- guess any teenager can fall in love with this song… But now (even though i am not a teenager anymore!) when I understand the lyrics better, I am head on heels in love with this song. For those who don't understand the lyrics, melody of SP Balasubramanyam and Chitra is just enough to keep listening to it again and again!

Lot of wonderful answers, couldn't find some of my favorites (I did not go through all answers apologies if i did not read an answer that already mentioned these). Here is a short list:

Such an inspiring song.
2. Ee sundara beladingala from the movie amrutavarshini

Amazing wordplay by K Kalyan
3.Ede tumbi haaduvenu by Prof. GS Shivarudrappa
Snippet “Indu naa hadidaru andinantheye kulithu

This can come from experience only.
4. Karunada taayi from the movie nanu nanna hendati
Snippet “Jeeva tanthi meetuva sneha nammadu Yella onde yennuva oudaarya nammadu Soundarya seemeya gudi nammadu Maadhurya tumbida nudi nammadu Kasthuri kannadada savi nammadu Roma Romagalu nintavu taaye, Cheluva kannadadolenidu maaye Mugile kadale sidile keliri. Tanavu manavu yella kannada.”

7. Maduvana karedare di Jayant Kaykini
Snippet mansina hasi banngalalli, neenelewa rekhegalalli, na moodabeku aadare yeduriddu kareyuve eke, jotheiddu mareyuve eke ninna olovu nijave aadare
The one that stands out for me is 'baanigondu yelle yellide'.

Translation etc : Baanuigondu elle ellide? Lyrics Translation
For the record, the word *God* is never used in the song. So the *he* in the song could be God, the Man, time, or any other entity that is more relevant :)
One thing is for sure. The song does have a *concentration camp* feel to it.
Being a big fan of kannada music, there are thousands of songs on my personal favourite list that have amazing lyrics. Most of the songs are mentioned in other answers but I'm surprised these songs didn't find a mention:
1) Bhale bhale Chandada Chendulli Hennu Neenu from Amruthavarshini.
Although I initially listened to the song only for its beautiful music and tune, I grew up to appreciate its lyrical beauty. One could definitely not have defined a woman's beauty better than K. Kalyan has in this song. Line after line, describing a woman's beauty pefectly, not a tinge of vulgarity anywhere, no objectification. Words weaved together in sheer admiration. (such a far cry from today's songs, huh? sigh.)
Here's a link to its lyrics: Bale Bale Chanadada Chendulli.. Amruthavarshini Song Lyrics
Here's the YouTube Link: Bhale Bhale Chandada
2) Manase oh Manase from Chandramukhi Pranasakhi
I must've tried counting the number of times the word manase is used in this song and failed a hundred times. Every odd word in this song is manasu (or a variation of it), and yet, it makes perfect sense and has such a deep meaning to it! again a K. Kalyan masterpiece.
Here's a link to its lyrics: Manase Oh Manase Lyrics, Chandramukhi Pranasakhi (1999) Lyrics

3) Ee Bhoomi Bannada Buguri from Maha Kshatriya
A song where Vishnuvardhan gives advice to a bunch of youngsters. serves as life advice to everyone/anyone listening to it. maretaaga jeevana paatha kodutaane chaatiya yeta... among other lines particularly strikes me everytime I listen to the song.
Here's a link to its lyrics: Ee Bhoomi Bannada Buguri Lyrics – Mahakshathriya

4) Lokada Kaalaji by Shishunala Sharif
you can accumulate all the riches you want throught your life but ultimately, one day, you'll have to leave everything and die. so why worry? why be greedy? be happy! is pretty much what this song says, but the way it is written is simply beautiful. Although there are many versions of this song, I like the one by Raghu Dixit.
Here's a link to both the lyrics and Video: Lokada Kalaji
There are numerous other songs I could add to this list but I think I should stop now. :D
and sorry, I couldn't translate the songs line by line as I'm a little low on time right now. Will definitely do it, probably as an edit, when I find time. :)
