The general idea to keep in mind with succulents is that excess water can kill them by suffocating their root system. They require loose, well aerated media.
You need a potting mix that drains well. You can buy cactus potting mix from the nurseries that will work just fine.

Water your plants only when the soil is dry to touch. Otherwise you’re over watering.
