I rather doubt your going to get rid of it all that easily if you don’t get it out of his yard. Mint in particular is difficult to eradicate, since you did start the mess I would offer to do at least some of the work if he really wants it gone. It is only fair and it is being a decent and honest neighbor. I wouldn’t go to great expense over it, mostly it’s a matter of getting out there and pulling the starts of mint and basil when ever they show up and killing the plants before they seed. Ho l'origano che cresce spontaneamente in tutta la mia proprietà, non me ne preoccupo. Lo taglio come faccio con l'erba e mi godo il profumo. Ci cucino anche. Dipende interamente da quanto la gente è anale sull'avere un cortile monocultura di 'solo erba'. Immagino che se è bella e rimane verde funziona come un buon sostituto dell'erba e il mio origano rimane effettivamente verde con meno acqua e lavoro rispetto all'erba. Con l'ulteriore vantaggio che ha un buon sapore/odore!
