I never heard of any plant specifically called a “Chinese bamboo tree,” so I looked it up.(Sh-h-h, don’t tell anybody you can actually find answers to just about any question just by putting it onto you browser and pressing enter.)
The only reference I found is to something called the Chinese moso bamboo, (Phyllostachys edulis)which is very common in China Phyllostachys edulis - Wikipedia
It also seems to be one of the (many) common names for “lucky bamboo,” which isn’t a bamboo at all but rather a type of Dracaena plant, like the corn plant and the dragon tree. (D. sanderiana.)
Otherwise, as near as I can tell, It’s not a common name for any species of bamboo - rather, it’s a catch-all name for bamboo species that live in China - of which there are an awful lot.
