Dipende da quanto era il biglietto e quanto lontano ho dovuto guidare. Ho visto Foreigner con Lou e il chitarrista originale indietro negli anni 80 è stato un buon spettacolo, potrebbe se vissuto senza voglio sapere cosa è dal vivo e il abbastanza. Ma i musicisti dei Foreigner ora sono tutti dannatamente talentuosi. Kelly Hansen fa un ottimo lavoro e Jeff Pilson ha molto talento. Quindi potrei andare a vederli. Non andrei a vedere i Ratt con solo due membri originali. Affrontare le band classiche sta diventando vecchio, i membri stanno morendo e alcuni non vogliono più andare in tour. Immagino che se ti piace abbastanza la musica vai a vederli, stanno cercando di guadagnarsi da vivere. Non ci sono più molte band là fuori con le formazioni originali

Would you buy a ticket to see a classic band like Foreigner with one or NO original members?

A classic band without an original member is basically a cover band. If the band is most known for their lead singer (i.e. Journey[1]) and they are no longer with them, you (I) would need to be fan of the musicians themselves to make you (me) pay the big ticket prices (I’m not, I loved Steve Perry’s voice). Or if they change lead singers (Van Halen[2]) you might pay to see them with one (DLR) but not the other (SH).

It all depends on what is important to you and the cost of the ticket.

That being said…Cover bands can be a lot of fun. Hubster and I have seen The Fab Four[3]a couple of times at an outdoor classical concert venue. They were very very good, stay in character, and put on a really great show.

Australian Pink Floyd[4]tours the world and has had a concert on PBS. They are incredible.

The quality of the cover band is what will make your decision.

I would pay to see both of those bands. I would not be willing to pay $80 to see them like I would a band I loved with original members, but for $40-$50 I definitely would.

One of my favorite classic bands is Cheap Trick[5]. I have seen them at the county fair and paid extra to get closer seats. I would willingly pay $80 to see them…they are that good and put on a great show.

If you really like the band, then you will pay. If you are just a casual listener of the band you will not.
