Inside your house, the wild olive tree will need to be in a bright sun lite room however, but never right next to the window. The glass can magnify the sunlight and burn your plant.

Outside, the Wild Olive Tree is shade tolerant and can survive in USDA zones 6-9 as long as it is planted in a well-drained soil.

The Mediterranean variety of olive tree needs at least 7 hours of sunlight a day however and a well- drained soil.

The Dwarf Olive Tree is native to Mediterranean as well but can be planted in bright partial shade in the USDA zones 8-11, but this tree will not prosper in deep shade.
