Variegation means variation in plants which is defined as the normal green portion of the plant leaf being replaced by white, cream, yellow, pink, purple etc. And leaves are edged or patterned in the form of splashes, spots, stripes, intricate pattern or blotches.

The variegations can occur on the edge of the leaves (marginate variegation),

or in the center of the leaf (medio variegation.)

Variegated leaves occur rarely in nature. Here are 2 examples,

• Aglaonema 'Silver Queen'
• Agave bovicornuta.

Le piante variegate sono semplicemente foglie che hanno venature visibili in esse. Lasciando una venatura bianca, rosa o di altri colori a seconda della pianta. Di solito sono estremamente belle! Aggiunge un sacco di struttura a qualsiasi impostazione del giardino.
