Any “plant food” is safe to use on plants if you follow the label directions carefully. That’s if you’re concerned about the plants.
If you’re concerned about consumer safety, the answer may depend on whether you’re growing edible flowers for sale or personal consumption.
If you’re growing for sale, there are EPA and, I believe, FDA or USDA rules that may apply. Your local Ag Extension agent can help you with that.
If you’re growing for personal consumption, then read the labels and only apply things that you’re comfortable using. Always use a plant food / fertilizer that is specifically for vegetable/fruit production, not houseplants.
You should be aware, also, that there are specific fertilizer formulations for flower/fruit/seed production. These are different from those applied to leaf crops, for example.
