I’ve been overseeding my acres with Dutch white clover and yarrow for years.
If you mow at 5″, the clover doesn’t really have a chance to reseed. Yarrow grows by runner and seed, and it stays green in the winter.

I love it. I couldn’t pretend to water 3 acres, so luckily, these don’t require much water. Clover is very moist to start with. Nitrogen back into the soil and a pretty lawn.
