Wax worms, though, love inside beehives and feed on the waxes used to build honeycombs. However, this is far from their sole food source—wax worms eat shed exoskeletons and pollen, too. So, while slightly more hospitable to insects, a diet of beeswax candles would be inhospitable to wax worms.
