Le abitudini di crescita native del VFT sono nelle paludi che sono impoverite di minerali e nutrienti di cui il VFT e molte altre piante avrebbero bisogno per prosperare, non per sopravvivere.

Il VFT che cresce nativamente in queste condizioni, per prosperare e competere con l'altra vegetazione presente, si è adattato/evoluto a queste condizioni consumando insetti come fonte di nutrienti che altrimenti gli mancano.

La fotosintesi è ciò che mantiene vivo il VFT. L'ingestione occasionale di un insetto gli dà quella spinta in più non diversa dal consumo di una vitamina.

Facilmente, mesi senza insetti non avrebbero effetto sulla vita del VFT. La necessità assoluta sarà sempre il sole, l'aria e l'acqua.

L'insetto occasionale stimola la crescita e fornisce un valore aggiunto di nutrienti e minerali per essere più competitivo tra le altre piante con cui un tempo in natura il VFT era in competizione.

1. It is more convenient to grow all the seeds together and separate them after germination as you can’t predict how many of them will germinate. Use the pot with drainage holes.
