Well, if you search up the Burt’s Bees website, you can get the ingredients from all the different types of lip balms, but for this answer I will just tell you the ingredients for their classic Beeswax Lip Balm:

• Beeswax
• Coconut oil
• Sunflower seed oil
• Peppermint oil
• Lanolin (which is wax secreted from wool producing animals)
• Rosemary leaf extract
• Soybean oil
• Canola oil
• Limonene

ingredients: Cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Mentha Piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, tocopherolrosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), limonene.

• Beeswax – The main ingredient is unsurprisingly beeswax. Honestly, I’d be a bit offended if it wasn’t (just like the avocado lip balms). The waxworks as a seal on your lips to trap moisture in and keep air out, ideally letting your lips heal. Beeswax can be an allergen trigger for people allergic to bees or honey, so if you are, don’t use Burt’s Bees Balm.
• Coconut Oil – That dastard! People have started to turn on our long time friend, coconut oil. Personally, I don’t mind eating the stuff occasionally but it makes my skin break out like a monster. Applied to the lips only I don’t seem to have any issues. Coconut oil is included for hydration.
• Sunflower Seed Oil – Another hydrating oil.
• Peppermint Oil – I’m surprised how far up Peppermint oil is on this list. Ingredient labels go from largest to smallest and this is smack in the middle. Peppermint oil gives Burt’s Bees that tingle and peppermint scent in the original formula. This can be another irritant for people so if you have a sensitivity to peppermint oil, watch out for it.
• Lanolin – Lanolin is derived from sheep oil. Basically, the natural oil a sheep excretes to help repel water and keep their wool in tip-top shape. It gives the same protection to your skin.
• Rosemary Leaf Extract – this ingredient can have two purposes. It works as an antioxidant (which fights free radicals) and it can be used for scent.
• Soybean Oil – Another antioxidant, and hydrating oil.
• Canola Oil – Skin-soothing, hydrating oil.
• Limonene – Usually used for orange scent or flavor.
